!The Problem
The operations team was spending 3+ hours daily on manual order processing. Each order required updating inventory in their spreadsheet, sending confirmation emails, creating shipping labels, and notifying the warehouse. Errors were common—duplicate orders, missed notifications, and inventory mismatches caused customer complaints and returns.
The Solution
We built an end-to-end order processing automation using n8n. When a new order comes in from Shopify, the workflow automatically updates inventory in Airtable, generates a picking list for the warehouse team via Slack, creates the shipping label through ShipStation, sends a branded confirmation email to the customer, and logs everything to Google Sheets for reporting. Error handling catches issues like out-of-stock items and routes them to a human for review.
